Automobiles in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Police say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The substance had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials say initial examinations suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

A senior political figure said the incident left him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman targeting individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
